30-Second Bondi sunrise TikTok goes viral
It was the 30-second TikTok that, in less than five days, became a global ad for Australia.
Last Friday, TikToker Molly-Mae, who has only around 1000 followers, posted a video of Bondi at sunrise writing: "I swear Australia is a different planet. Everyone else in the world: snooze alarm. People in Bondi Australia..."

Since it was posted, the video has gone viral with around 1.3 million views and generating mainstream media coverage across titles including the News Corp tabloids and The Daily Mail.
Why it matters: The video highlights how content, even from a user without a large follower count, on TikTok can go viral and in this case become a tourism ad for Australia and Bondi Beach as a destination.
