Pinterest has dropped its annual Pinterest Predicts report, looking into the crystal ball to get a heads up on the major trends of 2025.Pinterest brags an 80% accuracy rate with these reports, so they're worth paying attention to!
- Cherry red is on the rise
In the Cherry Coded trend, Gen Z and Millennials are set to bring cherries and deep red colours into their make-up, menus, and mood boards. Pinterest reports that searches for "Cherry vibe" are up 325%, with "Dark cherry red" seeing a boost of 235%.
- Bring out your best frills for the return of Rococo
The Rococo Revival trend draws inspiration from the Rococo era. During the Late Baroque, Pinterest describes the era as "a period that was both opulent and ultra-feminine." Driven by Gen Z and Boomers, this trend is full of classic corset gowns, luxe accessories, and ornate tablescapes. While searches such as "Rococo Wedding" are up 95%, nothing quite comes close to "Rococo outfit" which lifted 5465%.
- Pickles, pickles everywhere
Moving away from the fashion trends, pickles are set to be the next big thing in food. Pinterest predicts that "Gen X and Millennials will go all in on pickle cakes, pickle de gallo, pickle fries—and even pickle margaritas" with searches for "Pickle margarita" up 100%.
- Mountains take 2025 higher
Next year mountain ranges are set to become the top travel destination as Gen Z and Gen X look to the skies. Searches for "Mountain trip outfit" were up 35%, with "Dolomites" up 45%.
- Welcome to nesting parties
Pinterest describes nesting parties as "the baby shower as it should have always been. It’s not about the gifts (although those are welcome!). It’s about helping new parents prep for the postpartum period and set up their home for baby’s arrival." Driven by Gen Z and Millennials, searches for "Nesting party" are up 205%, and "Nesting party ideas" up 105%.
