Pinterest looks to take on AI 'enslopification'

Social platform Pinterest is looking to fight back on a growing wave of AI-driven content on the platform, announcing it is working on new labelling rules for AI-generated content.

Why it matters: In recent days, Futurism ran an analysis piece asking if the popular platform, which frames itself as a visual discovery engine, was being "strangled by AI slop". Ad Exchanger also picked up on the piece labelling it (harshly) the "enslopification of Pinterest".
What they said: Social Media Today then followed up with Pinterest, who commented to the outlet: “We have been building labelling of AI-generated or modified content to provide relevant context to users about what they see on Pinterest. We’ll continue to expand these labels in the coming months.”
