Reports: Meta seeks to make Facebook cool again
Media reports overnight claim Meta wants to regain some of its 2000s coolness with The Information reporting that the platform has consulted some of the biggest creators in the world - like MrBeast and Mark Rober - in order to Make Facebook Cool Again
What they said: YouTuber Rober told The Information that Facebook has a “big hill to climb” and adding that if its cultural influence Zuckerberg wants then “Instagram is culturally relevant...Facebook is not.”
What's the reaction been: Tubefilter notes this is not the first time the platform has sought to make Facebook more central again and notes that the company has been promising US creators up to $15,000 as a New Year's bonus if they post photos or carousels on Facebook.
It mirrors programs the company put in place amid the potential TikTok ban in the US.
