Taz and Alessia launches Creators Club Australia

Prominent Australian TikTokers Taz and Alessia have launched a new venture, Creators Club Australia, to help content creators professionalise and monetise their social videos.

What they said: In a TikTok post last night, the couple said: "Creators Club Australia is for anyone who wants to become a better social media creator and earn money from their content... this could be someone starting from scratch, or maybe you're a UGC creator or hell, maybe you're even an influencer. AEC seeks to clarify collaboration rules for content creators

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) yesterday moved to clarify the rules around authorisations and collaborations for content creators who post political messaging during the Federal Election campaign.

It is warning creators who are sharing political posts to ensure the authorisation is carried over even if the post is reshared or reposted on a platform. If the politicians are appearing/reposting a post with a creator they are advising them to authorise the collaborative posts with influencers/creators. Read more.

Trump tariffs scuttle potential TikTok deal - deadline extended 75 days

President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for TikTok to find a non-Chinese buyer by 75 days.

The move comes despite strong speculation that a deal was close. According to media reports, the complicating factor has been Trump's latest round of tariffs which have angered the Chinese. Read more.

The Liberals' 'Tim Cheese' fires back at AFR over 'brain rot' video claims

On Friday, the Liberal Party responded to The Australian Financial Review with a cheeky TikTok video, fronted by animated mouse Tim Cheese, after the newspaper asked about its TikTok video strategy in the campaign. Read more.
